Online Quran Classes in Canada
We teach families from St John's to Vancouver, live and one-to-one, with Ijazah-certified tutors. A free 3-day trial, no card, and a fixed weekly slot you keep.
Canada spans six timezones, so the practical scheduling advice differs a great deal between Halifax and Victoria. The table below is honest about which windows we can actually fill.
Which class times actually work in Canada
Times below are Eastern, which covers Toronto, the GTA, Ottawa and Montreal. Subtract an hour for Winnipeg, two for Calgary and Edmonton, three for Vancouver — the tutor's column does not change.
| Your local time | Your tutor’s time | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| 6:00 – 8:00 am ET | 1:00 – 3:00 pm | Our widest availability, and the slot we recommend for anyone memorizing. |
| 8:00 – 11:00 am ET | 3:00 – 6:00 pm | Homeschooling families and shift workers. Easy to book. |
| 3:30 – 5:30 pm ET | 10:30 pm – 12:30 am | After school in Ontario and Quebec. Limited to tutors who teach late — book ahead. |
| After 7:00 pm ET | 2:00 am onward | Not offered anywhere in Canada. A tutor teaching at that hour is not teaching well. |
Alberta and BC families should plan on a morning slot: 4:00 pm in Vancouver is 2:00 am for a tutor in Cairo. Before school is both the only reliable window and, for a child, the better one.
For your own city rather than the country average, the class time converter works it out from your device’s clock, daylight saving included.
Winter is the reason most Canadian families start
Canada's roughly 1.8 million Muslims are heavily concentrated — the GTA alone holds a large share — so in Mississauga or Scarborough there is usually a masjid programme within reach. For four months of the year, that stops mattering.
Driving a seven-year-old to a 6pm class in February, in the dark, on unploughed roads, is the thing that quietly ends more Quran study in this country than any loss of interest. Attendance does not collapse because the family stopped caring; it collapses because the journey became unreasonable twice a week.
An online slot removes the journey entirely, which is why the pattern we see most often in Canada is a family who keeps the masjid programme September to November and switches to online for the winter — then finds they never switch back, because the individual attention turned out to be the better lesson.
A note for families in Quebec
Montreal's Muslim community is substantially francophone, much of it of Maghrebi origin, and this is worth being straight about: we teach in English, with Arabic and Urdu available.
For an adult or a teenager comfortable in English that is no obstacle at all. For a young child whose home and school language is French, a tutor correcting them in English adds a layer the lesson does not need. We would rather tell you that before you book a trial than afterwards.
Students we teach in Canada: Mississauga · Scarborough · Brampton · Ottawa · Montreal · Calgary · Edmonton · Windsor · Vancouver · Winnipeg — and anywhere else with a stable connection.
What it costs in Canada

Plans are billed in US dollars ($30–$80). Canadian cards typically add a 2.5% foreign transaction fee, and the Canadian figures here move with the exchange rate.

Common questions from Canada
- Which slots work in Alberta and British Columbia?
- Mornings, essentially. 7:00 am in Calgary is 4:00 pm for a tutor in Cairo, which is ideal on both sides. After-school slots in Mountain and Pacific time fall between midnight and 3am for every tutor country we work with, so we do not offer them — a tired tutor at 2am is not worth your money.
- Do you teach in French?
- No. We teach in English, Arabic and Urdu. For French-speaking families in Quebec this matters most with young children, who do best being corrected in the language they think in. Teenagers and adults comfortable in English are generally fine.
- What does it cost in Canadian dollars?
- Roughly C$41 to C$110 a month depending on how many classes a week you take. We bill in US dollars, so the exact amount depends on the day's rate and most Canadian cards add about 2.5%. No registration fee, cancel any time.
- Can siblings share a class to save money?
- We would not recommend it — the entire value of a 1-on-1 lesson is that one person is listening to one child, and two children in one slot halves that. Ask about the family discount instead, which applies from the second student and costs less than you would expect.
