Online Quran Classes in the USA
We teach students across all four mainland US timezones, live and one-to-one, with tutors who hold a verified Ijazah. Classes are 30 minutes, booked into a fixed weekly slot, and there is a free 3-day trial before you pay anything.
The honest constraint worth knowing up front: our tutors are in Egypt and Pakistan, which puts them seven to twelve hours ahead of you. That makes American mornings excellent and American late evenings mostly unavailable. The table below shows exactly which windows work, so you can check the schedule before you invest any time in us.
Which class times actually work in the USA
Times below are Eastern. For Central subtract one hour from your local column, Mountain two, Pacific three — the tutor's time stays the same.
| Your local time | Your tutor’s time | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| 6:00 – 8:00 am ET | 1:00 – 3:00 pm | The best window we have. Adults before work, and the slot we recommend for Hifz. |
| 8:00 – 11:00 am ET | 3:00 – 6:00 pm | Homeschooling families and anyone working from home. Wide availability. |
| 3:30 – 5:30 pm ET | 10:30 pm – 12:30 am | After school. Available, but from a smaller pool of tutors who work late — book early. |
| After 7:00 pm ET | 2:00 am onward | Not offered. We would rather say so than assign you a tutor teaching at 3am. |
US clocks shift in March and November; Egypt's shift at different dates, so the gap moves by an hour for a couple of weeks twice a year. Your slot stays fixed to your clock unless you ask otherwise. Note that the after-school window is tighter on the West Coast — 4:00 pm Pacific is 2:00 am for your tutor — so Pacific families almost always take a morning slot.
For your own city rather than the country average, the class time converter works it out from your device’s clock, daylight saving included.
Why American families end up looking online
The United States has roughly 3.5 million Muslims, but they are spread across a continent. The result is two very different problems depending on where you live.
In Dearborn, Paterson or parts of Houston there is a masjid with a weekend school within a short drive, and the question is whether twenty minutes of group recitation twice a week is enough. Usually it is not — a child in a class of eighteen recites aloud for about ninety seconds per session, and nobody is listening closely enough to catch a Makharij error before it sets.
In most of the rest of the country the problem is simpler: there is no qualified teacher within an hour's drive, and certainly no female teacher. That is the gap we exist to fill.
Working around the American school year
Most families start in late August or September alongside the school year, which is also when our morning slots fill up fastest. If you are planning a September start, book the trial in July or early August.
Summer is the most underused opportunity in American Quran study. June through August, a child who normally manages three 30-minute sessions a week can comfortably do five, and that is when real Hifz progress happens. Families who use the summer properly arrive in September a full juz ahead of where they would otherwise be.

Common questions from the USA
- Can my child have a class after school?
- Yes on the East Coast and in Central time, where 3:30–5:30 pm falls in the late evening for tutors in Egypt. The pool of tutors working those hours is smaller, so these slots book out first. On the West Coast after-school lands in the middle of the night for every tutor country, so Pacific families take a morning slot before school instead — which, for a tired child at 4pm, is usually the better lesson anyway.
- Do you have female tutors for my daughter?
- Yes, and for most American families outside the largest Muslim communities this is the single thing that is impossible to arrange locally. Say so when you book and your free trial will be with a female tutor.
- What does it cost in dollars, with no surprises?
- Between $30 and $80 a month depending on how many classes a week you take. We bill in US dollars so there is no conversion fee, there is no registration charge, and you can cancel month to month. Missed classes are rescheduled rather than forfeited.
- My children were born here and do not speak Arabic. Is that a problem?
- No — it is the normal case. Our tutors teach in English and begin with decoding the script rather than assuming any spoken Arabic. The one thing to tell us at the trial is whether your child understands any Arabic at all, so the tutor pitches the first lessons correctly.

Teaching the Quran to Children Who Don't Speak Arabic
Most Muslim children worldwide learn to read the Quran without speaking Arabic. The right sequence, the sounds English and Urdu speakers find hardest, and when to add meaning.
